Be a Better Listener

Course
This program provides an overview of how communication is affected and altered by dementia and similar cognitive impairments, what signs and symptoms you may observe, and challenges you may encounter when trying to communicate. Participants will walk away with practical, research-based strategies for overcoming these obstacles, along with greater confidence when interacting with individuals with dementia, whether in a professional or personal setting.

Environmental Justice in Western Massachusetts

Course
Environmental Justice refers to the fair treatment of people to protect their health and the health of their environments. It also encompasses inclusion in decision making processes to protect local environments regardless of race, gender, national origin, or income. This course will examine environmental history in Western Mass, locations of environmental injustices, and initiatives to better promote environmental justice in the area.

Exercise is Medicine: Personalized Fitness Program

Course

Exercise is a powerful tool to optimize one's health and well-being. Engaging in regular physical activity can aid in managing chronic health conditions, improve fitness, and support activities of daily living. This course will offer participants an opportunity to learn more about their fitness level and receive custom exercise prescription and personal training. Attendance at all sessions is required.
