Spirit, Mind and Body on Safari

Description: Join Charlie and Linda Redmond as they provide some thoughts on how they decided to go on a safari and the steps they took to plan the trip. They will share stories and photos of their trip, including some close meetings with animals, nature, and the wonderful African people.

Instructor Bio: Charlie Redmond graduated from Springfield College in 1968 with a degree in Physical Education and Health. He also earned a Master of Education degree in Physical Education in 1971, and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1981. He was named dean of the Springfield College School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in 2008, a position he held until the start of the 2013-14 school year. He was inducted into the Springfield College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007, and he was the 2004-05 Distinguished Springfield Professor of Humanics. Linda Redmond earned her bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education in 1970 from Springfield College, and her master’s degree from the then-Westfield State College in Special Education 1993. She subsequently taught physical education in schools in Hartford, Conn., and special education in Springfield, Mass., schools.
